Ventoy 1.1.06 Brings TrueNAS Scale Support

Ventoy 1.1.06, an open-source tool for creating a bootable USB drive to load multiple ISO files, adds TrueNAS Scale support, updates XFS, and fixes boot issues.

Ventoy, the popular multi-boot utility for creating bootable USB drives for ISO files, has just released a brand new version, 1.1.06. The update arrives alongside the launch of a new project from the developer, called iVentoy, which aims to make network-based booting much simpler.

On the improvements side, Ventoy 1.1.06 adds official support for TrueNAS Scale, the Linux-based edition of the popular storage platform. On top of that, the release updates the XFS filesystem to its latest version, ensuring compatibility with modern setups.

Several boot issues have also been resolved, including problems with Parted Magic, LibreELEC 12.2, and newer versions of Tails (6.13 and later). The update also addresses a bug in TreeView mode where the boot order was not being displayed correctly.

Moreover, it’s worth noting also that recently the developer has introduced iVentoy, a new project designed to handle PXE boot environments with ease.

For those unfamiliar, PXE (Preboot Execution Environment) lets users boot operating systems over a network instead of from a USB stick or hard drive. iVentoy is essentially an enhanced PXE server that’s built to be extremely easy to use while still offering advanced features.

What makes iVentoy stand out is its broad hardware and OS support. It works across x86 Legacy BIOS, IA32 UEFI, x86_64 UEFI, and ARM64 UEFI systems. It already supports booting over 110 different types of operating systems, including Windows, Linux distributions, VMware, and WinPE.

For more about all novelties in Ventoy 1.1.06, see the changelog. Downloads are available from the project’s website.

Thanks for the message, but so far I only see only the older version 1.1.05 available for download.
