Google has quietly made Chrome available for ARM64 Linux systems, adding official DEB and RPM packages to the browser’s download page without publishing a separate launch announcement.
The download dialog now offers two additional options: a 64-bit ARM .deb package for Debian and Ubuntu, and a 64-bit ARM .rpm package for Fedora and openSUSE.
The release completes a rollout Google announced in March. The company said native Chrome builds for ARM64 Linux devices would arrive in the second quarter of 2026, promising the same Chrome features as on other supported platforms, including extension support, Google account synchronization, and integration with its services.

As we reported earlier this year, the addition was notable because ARM64 Linux users had long been limited to Chromium builds supplied by Linux distributions or other community-maintained alternatives. Google already supported ARM hardware on ChromeOS, Apple Silicon Macs, and Windows on ARM, but did not provide an official Chrome package for general-purpose ARM64 Linux installations.
However, Google missed its original Q2 deadline at the end of June. The new packages were added only recently, and the company has not posted about their availability on the Chromium Blog or Chrome Releases channel.
Installation works the same as with existing x86_64 packages. Users download the appropriate DEB or RPM file from the official Chrome website and install it through their distribution’s package manager. The package also adds Google’s Chrome software repository, allowing browser updates to arrive automatically through APT, DNF, or Zypper.
The browser remains distributed and maintained directly by Google, while the distributions continue to package the open-source Chromium browser separately. Until now, users of popular ARM Linux devices such as the Raspberry Pi generally had to rely on Chromium builds provided by their distribution when they wanted a Chrome-like browser.
