PeerTube Mobile App v1 Is Out

The PeerTube mobile app has reached version 1, allowing users to easily edit playlists, comment on videos, and switch between accounts.

PeerTube, a decentralized video hosting platform developed as an alternative to centralized ones like YouTube, finally released its long‑anticipated mobile app version 1.0 four months after its initial debut.

PeerTube mobile app 1.0 finally lets you sign in to an existing PeerTube account—no longer are you limited to the device‑tied local profile. Better yet, you can link multiple PeerTube accounts and pick your favorite as the default.

From there, everything you expect—subscriptions, playlists, viewing history, and more—syncs neatly into the mobile interface, giving you live access to your personalized video ecosystem.

Moreover, the new app makes leaving feedback wherever you are easy. Whether you’re thanking the chef behind that speculoos cake tutorial or suggesting a tweak to the sugar ratio, you can post—or delete—comments directly within the app.

And if words aren’t your thing, a quick thumbs up (or even a thumbs down, since PeerTube keeps things transparent) will let creators know how you feel in no time.

In addition to commenting, users can now manage channel subscriptions on the fly. One tap, and you’re subscribed. Change your mind later? Unsubscribe just as easily.

Likewise, playlist management sees a huge boost: assemble, edit, and delete playlists from your phone. Even better, any updates you make will automatically reflect on the web version when you log in on a computer.

Aside from these headline features, v1.0 includes several quality‑of‑life upgrades. Two‑factor authentication support adds an extra layer of security for logged‑in sessions. A clear‑all option helps you manage—or erase—your recently watched history. Plus, the update proudly showcases a brand‑new app icon.

Lastly, on the near‑term roadmap, you can expect: background playback, enhanced video recommendations, broader platform support, improved notifications, and even TV casting.
