NVIDIA has released its 615.78.08 graphics driver for Linux, the latest update in the company’s New Feature Branch, bringing several fixes and Vulkan-related improvements aimed primarily at gaming, Wayland, and system suspend behavior.
One of the main changes in 615.78.08 is support for revision 3 of the VK_NV_low_latency2 Vulkan extension. NVIDIA says this can improve latency and reduce stuttering when using vkd3d-proton, particularly when Frame Generation is enabled.
The release also addresses blocky graphical corruption that could appear while playing The Last of Us Part II.

On Linux, NVIDIA updated nvidia.ko to avoid interaction with certain SELinux configurations when the system is suspended through systemd and NVreg_UseKernelSuspendNotifiers is enabled. Following this, the NVreg_UseKernelSuspendNotifiers=1 option is now enabled by default.
Another fix resolves a failure that could occur when allocating GPU page tables larger than 2 GiB.
Finally, Wayland users get a notable correction, as NVIDIA fixed an issue where unvalidated VkHdrMetadataEXT values could be passed to the Wayland color-management-v1 protocol, potentially resulting in a crash.
