Kdenlive 25.04.3 Wraps Up Series With Key Bug Fixes

Kdenlive 25.04.3 open-source video editing software wraps up the 25.04 series with bug fixes for volume and transform effects.

The Kdenlive team has just released v25.04.3, marking the final maintenance update in the popular open-source video editor’s 25.04 series.

One of the notable fixes resolves a persistent issue where the built-in volume effect remained disabled even after users attempted to activate it.

Additionally, the latest release brings improvements to the OpenTimelineIO (OTIO) export function. Tracks now maintain proper order upon export, and files consistently adopt the correct “.otio” extension, eliminating previous confusion.

Guides, essential tools for precise editing, also received important attention. Adjustments now correctly reflect when users change project profiles to match a clip profile from the bin.

Another related fix ensures guide positions are automatically recalibrated after profile changes, further enhancing editing accuracy.

Usability improvements also include a default behavior adjustment: new clips now insert into the lowest available video track, rather than the top track.

Furthermore, a tweak to the transform tool now applies an offset to resize handles when the monitor rectangle is small, improving the ease of repositioning clips.

Refer to the release announcement for detailed information about all changes in Kdenlive 24.05.3. Source code and pre-built packages are available from the official Kdenlive site.
