NVIDIA has released its 615.71 Linux graphics driver as the latest New Feature Branch version, bringing several improvements for Linux gaming, Wayland, and newer Blackwell GPUs.
The biggest change is improved support for NVIDIA Reflex when running Windows games through Proton. Vulkan games using NVIDIA’s low-latency technology can now work with Reflex more seamlessly under Proton without extra effort from users.
NVIDIA also fixed an issue that prevented its low-latency technology from working properly in some Wayland sessions. This should help reduce input latency in supported games on Wayland.
Another gaming-related fix addresses several hangs that could occur when starting games or switching between them with Alt+Tab while NVIDIA Smooth Motion was enabled. Plus, Wayland users get a fix for an Xid 109 error that could occur when launching PRAGMATA.

For Blackwell GPU owners, NVIDIA 615.71 fixes a display corruption problem that appeared when output scaling was enabled. The driver also resolves a rare computing issue affecting some workloads on Blackwell GPUs.
The release also includes a suspend fix. Systems could previously fail to resume from suspend if hibernated earlier, and NVIDIA says this problem is now fixed.
There is a new option to reduce idle power consumption in some multi-monitor setups. NVIDIA cautions that enabling it may cause brief display glitches, so it is mainly for users who want to experiment with lower idle power usage.
Finally, NVIDIA has added support for cgroups-based memory partitioning and a new Vulkan extension, while also fixing a Vulkan-related file descriptor leak.
