System76 Debuts 2026 Lemur Pro with 18-Hour Battery Life and Wi-Fi 7

System76’s new Lemur Pro weighs under 3 pounds, packs Intel Core Ultra Series 3 chips, and starts at $1,999 before the current $76 discount.

System76 has launched the new Lemur Pro, a Linux-first laptop for users who want a lightweight machine without sacrificing modern hardware or long battery life. The refreshed model comes in 14-inch and 16-inch versions, both weighing under 3 pounds, and ships with Pop!_OS 24.04 LTS with the COSMIC Desktop Environment, Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, or Ubuntu 26.04 LTS.

The device is powered by Intel’s Core Ultra Series 3 processors. Buyers can choose between the Intel Core Ultra 5 325, with up to 4.5 GHz, 8 total cores, and 47 TOPS, or the Intel Core Ultra X7 358H, with up to 4.8 GHz, 16 total cores, and 50 TOPS.

The latter also comes with Intel Arc B390 graphics, giving the higher-end configuration a stronger graphics profile than the previous Lemur Pro generation. The Core Ultra X7 358H configuration delivers over 100% faster graphics than the previous Lemur Pro with a Core Ultra 7 processor, while users should see 30–50% multi-core performance gains.

The new Lemur Pro is offered with either a 14-inch FHD+ display at 1920×1200 or a 16-inch QHD+ display at 2560×1600, both with a 16:10 aspect ratio, a matte finish, and 100% sRGB coverage.

Memory is fixed at 32 GB of LPDDR5X running at 7467 MT/s. Storage is handled by a single M.2 PCIe Gen4x4 drive, configurable up to 4 TB. The base system includes a 1 TB PCIe 4.0 drive, with 2 TB and 4 TB upgrades available.

As expected from a modern ultraportable, the port selection covers the essentials. The Lemur Pro includes one Thunderbolt 4 port with power delivery, one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port with power delivery, one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A port, one USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A port, HDMI, a MicroSD card reader, and a headphone/microphone combo jack.

Wireless connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth, though System76’s specifications and configurator differ on the exact Bluetooth version.

Battery life is a headline feature. System76 advertises up to 18 hours from the new Lemur Pro, backed by a 73 Wh smart lithium-ion battery pack and a 65 W USB-C charger. The 14-inch model weighs 2.2 lbs, just under 1 kg, while the 16-inch version weighs 2.96 lbs, or 1.34 kg, including the battery.

There are also a few privacy-focused configuration details. The laptop includes a 2.0 MP FHD webcam, but System76’s configurator lets buyers disable the built-in webcam and microphone at purchase. A Kensington-type lock slot is also included.

On the software side, the new Lemur Pro keeps System76’s Linux-first approach. Pop!_OS 24.04 LTS with COSMIC is available as the flagship option, while users who prefer Canonical’s distribution can choose Ubuntu 24.04 LTS or Ubuntu 26.04 LTS.

Pricing starts at $1,999, though System76 is currently listing the laptop at $1,923 as part of a $76 Fourth of July discount. According to the company’s announcement, the discount runs through July 7, and the current configurator lists mid-July for shipping.
