After launching Gemini 17 Intel in December, TUXEDO has now introduced a new offering: Gemini 17 Gen4 AMD, a Linux-ready laptop designed as a desktop replacement.
It features a 17.3-inch chassis, just under 2.9 cm thick, and weighing 2.8 kg. While not intended for frequent travel, the larger form factor allows improved cooling, quieter operation, and sustained performance compared to thinner laptops.
At the core is AMD’s Ryzen 9 9955HX processor, a desktop-class chip with 16 cores and 32 threads, boosting up to 5.4 GHz. With a sustained power limit of up to 110 watts, the CPU handles intensive tasks such as software compilation, rendering, multitasking, and gaming.

Graphics are handled by NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 5060, configured up to 115 watts with Dynamic Boost. The GPU targets 1440p gaming and GPU-accelerated workloads, offering a balance between performance and cost. For users needing higher graphics performance, TUXEDO also offers an Intel-based variant with the RTX 5070 Ti.
The laptop features a 17.3-inch display with a resolution of 2560 × 1440 pixels and a 240 Hz refresh rate. The panel covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color space, making it suitable for both gaming and color-sensitive tasks such as photo and video editing.
Memory and storage options are also geared toward high-end use cases. The Gemini 17 AMD supports up to 128 GB of DDR5-5600 RAM and includes two M.2 slots for SSD storage, allowing configurations of up to 8 TB.
Connectivity includes two USB-C ports with DisplayPort support, HDMI 2.1, and additional USB ports, enabling up to three external displays with the built-in screen. Other features are a 2-in-1 audio jack and an RJ45 LAN port, providing a full range of workstation connectivity.
The design follows a subdued, professional aesthetic without RGB lighting. It includes a membrane keyboard with a full numpad and adjustable backlighting for productivity-focused users.
Buyers can choose among TUXEDO OS, Ubuntu 24.04 LTS (both with optional full-disk encryption), and Windows 11. The system also includes pre-installed drivers and vendor-developed tools for hardware control.
The base configuration, which includes the Ryzen 9 9955HX, RTX 5060, 16 GB of RAM, and a 1 TB SSD, starts at €1,764 excluding VAT and import duties.
