The OpenRazer project, an open-source driver and user-space daemon that brings Razer hardware support to Linux, offering features such as RGB lighting control, device configuration, and other hardware-specific functions that are not available on Linux without vendor software, has just rolled out version 3.12.
Newly supported hardware in this release includes:
- Razer BlackWidow V4 Tenkeyless HyperSpeed
- Razer Mouse Dock Pro
- Razer Huntsman V3 Pro 8KHz
- Razer Kraken Tournament Edition
- Razer Huntsman V3 Pro Mini
- Razer Tartarus Pro
Alongside new hardware support, OpenRazer 3.12 includes fixes and internal improvements. The Python library used by OpenRazer has received typing improvements and general cleanup, which may affect applications that rely on the pylib interface.
Several device-specific issues were addressed. The update fixes a problem on the Razer Blade 14 (2021) in which the starlight lighting effect ignored the configured color and speed parameters. Another fix resolves a kernel warning triggered when reporting the device type for the Razer BlackWidow V4 75%.
Additional improvements include enabling horizontal scrolling support for the Razer Pro Click V2 mouse and adding REL_HWHEEL support for the Razer Naga Epic Chroma. The release corrects a broken game mode LED on the Huntsman V3 Pro TKL and fixes polling rate configuration for the DeathAdder V4 Pro.
Finally, the OpenRazer daemon itself has also been improved to automatically resume devices when the service exits.
