KDE Plasma 6.2.1: October Bugfix Update Released

Plasma 6.2.1 desktop environment October update is out now bringing essential bug fixes, feature refinements, and fresh translations.

Today, KDE announced the release of the Plasma 6.2.1 desktop environment, the first maintenance update to the Plasma 6.2 series released early this month. It introduced some feature refinements and new modules which enhance the overall desktop experience. Here they are.

  • Spacebar: Improved SMS sending functionality.
  • Discover Snap: Fixed a crash when a null channel was returned.
  • Wallpaper Configuration: Addressed a crash when the wallpaper configuration contained invalid values.

Additionally, the full changelog for Plasma 6.2.1 reveals a wide array of improvements across various components, such as:

  • Breeze: Fixed sizing issues with checkboxes that lacked text or icons.
  • Discover: Prevented crashes related to null channels in Snap.
  • Plasma Addons: Fixed a bug in the web browser applet when selecting “Fixed Scale.”
  • KWin: Numerous optimizations, including improved handling of screen geometry and fixes for crashes with NVIDIA graphics cards.
  • Plasma Desktop: Enhanced the calibration and robustness of tablet configurations, ensuring smoother operation.
  • Powerdevil: Improved the handling of display brightness, particularly during monitor wake-up events.
  • Plasma Mobile: Fixed several user interface issues, including gesture navigation and status bar clock updates.
