Only a week after the release of Plasma 6.3, the KDE team rolled out the first bugfix update to its 6.3 series, version 6.3.1, by patching several issues, providing translations, and ensuring a smoother user experience overall.
With that said, the Breeze theme no longer causes occasional crashes in non-KDE apps, KScreen Doctor now handles DPMS mode outputs more reliably, and Info Center no longer struggles with page flickering on its energy panel.
Moreover, KWin, KDE’s window manager, reduces graphical glitches and polishes advanced display features like night light and offloading for HDR. Among these changes, one of the more important is a fix that ensures brightness does not ramp up unexpectedly when you enable night light.
The Plasma Desktop shell benefits from refined applet interactions, better input device handling, and more stable drag-and-drop behavior in panels and launchers.

Regarding add-ons, the Color Picker applet sees improvements to its tooltips and radio button behavior. The Kate Sessions applet is now more keyboard-friendly, enabling smoother navigation when juggling multiple text documents.
Plasma 6.3.1 also brings a range of refinements to menus, panels, and applets. A particularly visible fix is the updated behavior in the Kickoff and Kicker launchers, ensuring more accurate keyboard navigation and selection. So, if you like to pin or drag items within the launcher, it should now feel more intuitive, with far fewer crashes or awkward interactions.
Lastly, it’s worth noting that the Dr. Konqi crash handler, Plasma Browser Integration, and numerous other core desktop components, such as the system tray, task manager, and digital clock, also get updates in this release for which you can find details in the Plasma 6.3.1’s full changelog.
