The Gnoppix team has officially released Gnoppix KDE 25.10, a Debian Trixie–based distribution that places a strong focus on performance, privacy, and user experience. This latest version introduces several under-the-hood improvements and visible UI changes.
One of the biggest highlights is the inclusion of built-in performance patches. In previous releases, users had to manually apply system tweaks to get the best results, especially for gaming. That’s no longer the case—these optimizations are now part of the system itself.
The team states that this directly improves game performance, allowing titles to run more efficiently under Steam and Lutris, with some even performing better than on Windows.
The Welcome Screen has also been completely overhauled. It now doubles as a Control Center, providing users with instant access to key system information, such as internet connection and Tor network status. The new design feels modern and places essential tools right up front, rather than scattering them across multiple menus.

Another standout addition is the introduction of the Gnoppix AI Agent, a 24/7 web-based assistant built using open-source and closed AI models. It’s designed to answer user questions, pull data from the project’s internal databases, and even reference documentation hosted on Google Sheets.
In terms of privacy, the team is once again promoting Librewolf as the preferred browser. The decision follows growing concerns about Firefox’s data practices. Users can still choose their browser, but Gnoppix says Librewolf aligns better with its commitment to privacy and open standards.
For hardware, the developers note that due to the system’s comprehensive driver and service support, default RAM usage is approximately 3.8 GB. Therefore, users are advised to have at least 8 GB of RAM for an optimal experience.
Gnoppix KDE 25.10 is available for download now. More details, including AI Agent documentation and community updates, can be found on the project’s official website and GitHub page. Announcement is here.
