Bottles 51.25 Released With st Terminal Support

Bottles 51.25, a compatibility layer for running Windows apps on Linux, adds support for the st terminal and improves Steam configuration handling.

Bottles, an open-source software tool built on top of Wine that helps users run Windows applications and games on Linux systems by providing a user-friendly GUI, has just released its latest version, 51.25.

This release adds compatibility with the lightweight st terminal. It also fixes several issues affecting configuration handling and dependency updates, including crashes when changing update preferences or refreshing a bottle’s dependency list.

Steam integration sees notable improvements, with BottleConfig now correctly loading from bottle.yml when available. The update also resolves a long-standing issue with CMD actions in XFCE4 Terminal, improving command execution consistency across desktop environments.

Additionally, the cleanup process has been refined — placeholder folders are now fully removed when a bottle is deleted, ensuring a tidier environment.

According to devs, Bottles 51.25 has been tested with popular applications like Notepad++ and Battle.net, confirming stable performance under the new version.
