Amarok 3.3.3 Music Player Released with Playback and Layout Fixes

Amarok 3.3.3 music player is out with fixes for suspend inhibition, window layout restoration, context applet saving, and Wikipedia applet parsing.

The Amarok team has released Amarok 3.3.3, the third bug-fix update in the Amarok 3.3 “Far Above the Clouds” series, bringing several fixes to improve day-to-day use of the KDE music player.

This release restores the function that prevents the system from suspending while music plays. The regression could affect users who keep Amarok running during playback and expect the system to stay awake until listening ends.

Amarok 3.3.3 also fixes layout-related issues. The main window layout now restores correctly after restarting the application. Context applet height saving has been corrected where it did not work reliably.

Another fix updates the Wikipedia applet, modifying its parsing logic to handle current page syntax changes. The update keeps the applet functional when pulling related artist or album information from Wikipedia.

The release also fixes a playlist bug where tracks could duplicate when dragged from the file browser to the playlist drop area. Alongside these user-visible fixes, Amarok 3.3.3 includes small code-quality improvements and build fixes for various system configurations.

For additional details, see the announcement.

Amarok 3.3.3 is available as source code, while distribution packages are expected to arrive through individual Linux repositories. The music player is also available as a Flatpak through Flathub.
