KDE has released Plasma 6.7.5, the fifth maintenance update in the 6.7 series, with much of the work landing in KWin, where Plasma 6.7.5 fixes several Wayland-related issues.
Those include a file descriptor leak when starting an input method, incorrect DRM syncobj kernel version detection, and problems with surrounding-text offsets. The compositor also receives fixes for ICC color profile handling, a use-after-free bug affecting touch input, and a null pointer dereference in custom tiling.
Discover also sees several corrections. Updates no longer become stuck when fwupd is unavailable. Another regression that could incorrectly mark firmware updates as requiring a reboot has been addressed. The release also fixes an rpm-ostree notifier crash and improves Snap update checking when no upgrades are available.
On the networking side, Plasma NetworkManager fixes a crash triggered by multiple simultaneous secret requests, along with problems involving missing credentials and duplicate password update or deletion jobs. Plasma Vault now restores networking correctly when an offline vault was not properly closed before shutdown.
On the desktop side, KDE fixed an issue that could cause Kicker favorites to launch twice when activated with the Space key. It also fixed several Task Manager problems with right-to-left languages and a bug where Plasma could overwrite an accent color provided by the wallpaper.
Moreover, Klipper now correctly applies changes to its keyboard shortcut settings and preserves encoded PNG data when restoring clipboard history entries. The Digital Clock receives fixes for overflowing tooltips and agenda dates across different time zones. Powerdevil now clears stale battery warnings after charging begins.
Spectacle gets two fixes as well, including one for a crash that could occur when a window disappeared during window-under-pointer detection. Finally, xdg-desktop-portal-kde fixes leaking screencast streams when their creation fails and now releases sessions when the portal frontend disappears.
For more details, see the release announcement or the full changelog. Users should receive the update through their distribution’s regular software update channels once packages become available.
The next point release, KDE Plasma 6.7.6, is scheduled for November 3.
