Rhythmbox 3.5.1 Music Player Released with ReplayGain Fix

Rhythmbox 3.5.1 is out with a fix for the ReplayGain plugin, improved dependency compatibility detection, and Bandcamp FLAC lyric support.

Rhythmbox 3.5.1 has been released as a small maintenance update to the popular open-source music player, mainly fixing playback and dependency compatibility issues introduced in the 3.5 release.

The most notable change is a fix for the ReplayGain plugin, which now works correctly with Rhythmbox’s new player backend. In version 3.5, enabling ReplayGain could prevent playback entirely, but now it’s fixed for users who rely on volume normalization across their music libraries.

Rhythmbox 3.5.1 also improves detection of compatibility problems between PyGObject, libpeas, and girepository. The update addresses a build failure that could occur when using a newer PyGObject version with an older libpeas release.

Another addition comes through a merged contribution that introduces lyric support for FLAC files obtained from Bandcamp, expanding Rhythmbox’s ability to display embedded song lyrics. Finally, the release also includes updated Belarusian and Finnish translations.

For more details on all the changes, see here. You can install the music player from Flathub as a Flatpak package.
