The Document Foundation has announced LibreOffice 26.2.1, the first maintenance update to the 26.2 series introduced earlier this month, now available for download on Windows, macOS, and Linux.
Many fixes improve compatibility with Microsoft Office formats. DOCX round-trip corruption cases were addressed, including issues with content controls, comment references, tab limits, and shape geometry.
XLSX export errors were corrected, such as invalid formulas, font issues in styles.xml, array formula handling, and SUM, MAX, and MIN validation. PPTX interoperability was improved with fixes for custom geometry, placeholder imports, audio export classification, and image rendering.
Writer now features corrections to rendering, bullet formatting, table layout, and SVG export. Issues with redline rendering and whitespace view have been resolved. Crashes related to undo operations and shape manipulation have also been fixed.
Calc sees stability improvements in formula handling and recalculation. Fixes include COUNTIFS behavior, XLOOKUP horizontal searches for empty cells, fraction formatting hangs, invalid parameter validation during export, and multi-threaded recalculation inconsistencies on document load. A hang triggered by saving new spreadsheets containing Excel-pasted cells with empty first rows has also been addressed.
Impress receives stability fixes for PPTX imports, PNG files with CRC errors, media insertion crashes, and export inconsistencies. Base users benefit from restored database form editing and the return of the MariaDB direct driver, which was missing in earlier builds.
Platform-specific fixes are included as well. On Windows, UI text color inconsistencies influenced by system appearance settings were corrected. On macOS, issues affecting the press-and-hold character popup were resolved. Safe mode behavior using Vulkan or Metal rendering has also been adjusted.
