KDE Gear 25.04.3 Apps Collection Rolls Out, Here’s What’s New

KDE Gear 25.04.3 apps collection introduces fixes across the suite, including enhancements to Kdenlive, Kate, Itinerary, Gwenview, and other desktop apps.

Today, almost a month after the 25.04.2 apps collection release, the KDE team has rolled out its third (and final) maintenance update to this series, KDE Gear 25.04.3.

Key highlights from this update include important fixes in popular applications. For instance, users of the KDE clock app, kclock, will appreciate the fix for the alarm form that previously overflowed on larger screens.

Kitinerary, KDE’s travel itinerary manager, now effectively supports extraction scripts for ticket-ua railway passes. Tea lovers using KTeaTime will find relief as the tea remove button in settings has been restored.

Additionally, Dolphin, KDE’s file manager, has resolved an issue causing file descriptor leaks, significantly enhancing stability. Gwenview, the image viewer, has seen improvements in its print preview functionality, especially on multi-screen setups.

Video editors using Kdenlive can now expect better handling of guides and track ordering, which previously led to confusion during editing.

Furthermore, users relying on remote desktop capabilities provided by KRDC will now enjoy a more seamless experience with improved error handling and interface responsiveness.

Most KDE Gear 25.04.2 apps will soon be available on Flathub and Snap Store. Rolling release distributions can expect the app collection in their respective distros’ repositories in the coming days and weeks.
