Vivaldi has rolled out version 7.6 of its browser, with the headline feature being a fully customizable tab bar. Users can now edit it directly, rearrange tools, and place them wherever they prefer—top, bottom, left, or right.
That flexibility extends to the address bar, status bar, and side panel, allowing users to strip down the interface or build it out depending on how they like to browse.
Alongside that comes the new Tab Button, a single panel for managing tabs. It consolidates open tabs, synced tabs, and recently closed ones in one place, complete with search.
Duplicates are grouped automatically, making it easier to close extras and cut down on tab clutter. By default, the button sits at the end of the tab bar, but like everything else in Vivaldi, it can be moved.

Vivaldi 7.6 also includes cleaned-up context menus, giving more focus to the most commonly used actions. The address field has been expanded with keyword shortcuts—typing “@tabs,” “@bookmarks,” or “@history” filters results instantly without leaving the field.
It’s also worth noting that on Windows, trackpad and touchscreen users get swipe gestures for forward and back navigation.
Other changes cover speed and stability. Hibernated tabs now resume more quickly, the built-in ad blocker adds popup rule support to block aggressive ads, and performance improvements help lighten heavy sessions.
