After launching Gemini 17 Gen3 in September 2024, TUXEDO has now introduced the next generation of their powerful Linux laptop line, Gemini 17 Gen4 INTEL, a new 17-inch Linux notebook positioned as an affordable desktop replacement.
Combining Intel’s Core i9-14900HX processor with NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, the device targets users who need workstation-class performance in a portable form factor.
The Gemini 17 Gen4 retains the classic characteristics of a desktop-replacement system: a large display, high-end components, and an expanded cooling system capable of handling demanding workloads.
At 2.9 cm thick and 2.8 kg, it is not intended for frequent travel but is built for users who want desktop-level performance in a machine that can still be moved between locations when needed.
The system’s Intel Core i9-14900HX brings 24 cores and single-core speeds up to 5.8 GHz, delivering strong performance for both productivity and gaming. The chip supports up to 32 threads via Hyper-Threading and draws up to 115 watts of power within the chassis.

Paired with NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 5070 Ti running at up to 140 watts and equipped with 12 GB of GDDR7 memory, the notebook supports demanding 3D workloads, high-detail gaming, and memory-intensive media production tasks.
A 17.3-inch 2560×1440 display with a 240 Hz refresh rate forms the centerpiece of the system. The panel covers 100 percent of the DCI-P3 color space, offering a wider gamut suitable for multimedia work and photo editing. The combination of QHD resolution and high refresh rate provides a balance between visual clarity and GPU load.
The Gemini 17 Gen4 supports up to 96 GB of DDR5-5600 memory and includes two M.2 slots for NVMe SSDs, allowing configurations up to 8 TB. External connectivity accommodates multi-monitor setups with two DisplayPort 2.1 outputs via USB-C and HDMI 2.1, enabling up to three additional high-resolution displays.
In addition, the device also includes four USB ports, a 2-in-1 audio jack, USB-C charging up to 100 W, and an RJ45 LAN port.
TUXEDO positions the system for both professional and gaming use, opting for a subdued workstation-style design without RGB lighting. The membrane keyboard includes a full numpad and a multi-color adjustable backlight for low-light environments.
As with all TUXEDO hardware, the Gemini 17 Gen4 ships with full Linux support. Users can choose between TUXEDO OS and Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, both of which offer optional full-disk encryption. Windows 11 is also supported for dual-boot or alternative workflows.
The base configuration includes the i9-14900HX, RTX 5070 Ti, 16 GB of RAM, and a 1 TB NVMe SSD, starting at €1,805 before VAT and import duties. Pre-orders are open now, with shipments scheduled to begin at the end of December.
