LibreOffice 26.2.2 Released With Over 100 Bug Fixes Across Writer, Calc, and Impress

LibreOffice 26.2.2 delivers over 100 fixes, including DOCX, XLSX, and PPTX compatibility improvements and crash resolutions.

The Document Foundation has announced LibreOffice 26.2.2, the second maintenance update to the 26.2 series introduced earlier this month, now available for download on Windows, macOS, and Linux.

Many of the fixes focus on document compatibility and file handling. Issues affecting DOCX, XLSX, and PPTX formats have been resolved, including problems with content controls, bookmarks, chart exports, pivot tables, and formula handling. Several bugs that caused Microsoft Office to reject round-tripped documents have also been fixed.

The update also resolves crashes and freezes. These include cases where opening ODT documents could cause the application to hang, issues with Java-based tools triggering instability, and crashes related to rendering backends such as Skia on X11 systems.

Regarding rendering and layout issues, fixes cover incorrect text alignment, missing slide thumbnails, broken bullet formatting dialogs, and EMF and EMF+ image rendering issues. Improvements were also made to ensure more accurate PDF export, including corrections to PDF/A-1 and PDF/UA-2 output.

An additional batch of fixes targets user interface inconsistencies and workflow issues. These include incorrect cursor behavior after editing comments, unexpected toolbar visibility in presentation mode, and inconsistencies in print preview orientation when switching printers.

LibreOffice 26.2.2 is now available for download, while the project continues to recommend 25.8.x branch for production deployments. The 26.2 series remains the feature-focused line for users who want the latest improvements.

Finally, just to mention that in parallel, LibreOffice 25.8.6 has also been released as a maintenance update to the stable branch.

The next update, 26.2.3, is scheduled for late April. LibreOffice 26.2 will be supported through November 30, 2026, after which it’ll reach end of life for that release series.
