The KDE team has announced the release of Plasma 6.6.1, the first bugfix update to the major Plasma 6.6 series.
Much of this update focuses on KWin and Wayland. It improves screen output settings, fixes clipboard issues with Xwayland, and prevents loading invalid output states. The update also makes output assignments more reliable, improves screen edge monitoring, and fixes color and brightness handling.
For display and calibration, the update removes an outdated fullscreen average calibration page and disables the HDR calibration button if there are pending changes. The KScreen widget now requests active status correctly, and support for custom display modes has been improved for both DRM and virtual backends. The libkscreen component also fixes issues with removing custom display modes.
The update removes incorrect connection failure messages in the Bluedevil networking applet. In KDE GTK Config, disabled animations now work again when there are no decoration buttons. The krdp module also restores proper clipboard sharing from server to client in RDP sessions.
Several workspace applets and core services have been improved. The digital clock applet now shows localized digits, task manager tooltips are sized correctly even without thumbnails, and launcher elements now respond properly to context menu actions and icon changes.
The system tray now works as expected and no longer leaves menu buttons visible after using audio controls. The logout greeter and KSplash components now set clear screen layers for better handling.
Network management in Plasma NetworkManager now better detects when wireless is disabled, has updated disconnection icons, and removes unnecessary QML import versions. The Plasma Audio Volume Control applet also fixes its bug report URL.
Finally, login management now ensures the greeter appears on the correct screen layer. Many plasma-mobile components fix display layering, quicksettings timing issues, and notification color handling. System settings have also improved how menu proxies show related categories.
