KDE Plasma 6.2.3 Arrives with Bug Fixes and Improvements

KDE Plasma 6.2.3 desktop environment is now available, resolves KWin's HDR brightness issue, improves Bluedevil PIN behavior, and more.

Two weeks after its previousย 6.2.2 release, the KDE team rolled out a new bugfix update to its Plasma 6.2 series, version 6.2.3. While generally small, these bug fixes improve system stability and usability.

For instance, Bluedevil has seen corrections to the PIN entry behavior, which enhances Bluetooth device pairing. KWin received attention addressing issues related to backlight brightness in HDR mode.

Additionally, KDE GTK Config was improved to handle situations where a decoration plugin fails to load more gracefully.

Apart from these, the complete changelog highlights extensive tweaks across various Plasma components, all contributing to a better overall user experience. Breeze has been updated to prevent null pointer dereferencing.

KDE Plasma’s software center app, Discover, saw corrections in API usage within FwupdBackend and adjustments to fix the visibility of the reviews component.

KWin window manager has also been enhanced in multiple areas, such as fixing file descriptor leaks, resolving colormap issues, ensuring smoother interactions in HDR settings, and maintaining flawless window management.

Other notable improvements include fixes in Plasma Addons, which now properly display other logged-in users’ avatars in the user switcher applet.

Last but not least, Plasma Desktop received several updates, including improved Task Manager icon alignment, fixed app tooltips, and resolved issues with emoji annotation searches, resulting in a more visually consistent and easy-to-navigate interface.
