KDE Gear 24.08.3 Apps Collection Rolls Out, Here’s What’s New

Almost a month after its previous 24.08.2 release, KDE has rolled out the latest version of its app collection, KDE Gear 24.08.3, packed with various fixes, from general bug resolution to compatibility enhancements for various programs. Here are a few noteworthy updates:

  • NeoChat: Adjustments to make it compatible with the newly released libquotient 0.9.
  • KDevelop: Multiple fixes, including a MesonManager bug that removes test suites when a project is closed and a QML crash that occurred while building a timeline with Qt 6.8.
  • Elisa: Resolved an issue where certain icons were missing on specific platforms.
  • Itinerary: Added support for app-specific language selection on Android 33 and fixed build issues related to Qt 6.8.
  • K3b: Fixed issues involving file pattern parsing during ripping, and removed old MusicBrainz code.

Transitioning from bug fixes to improvements, programs like Konsole and Kdenlive have also received stability enhancements that target both common and edge-case issues:

  • Konsole: Improved color handling to prevent inconsistencies in OSC commands.
